End Grain Chopping Board (Oak) [2]
This chopping board was made by me in my workshop from Oak.
Oak gives the board a great look because of its tight grain.
Rubber feet on the bottom to prevent the boards from slipping when cutting.
I have finished all my Chopping Boards with a food-safe finish, so they are ready for use.
End Grain Chopping Board (Made up of the end grain instead of the face grain). Considered the "King" of cutting surfaces.
Benefits:
- Wood fibres stand vertically, allowing your knives to slide between the grain and reducing dulling.
- "Self Healing" This means it is better at hiding the cut marks than normal boards.
- "Enhanced Hygiene" The vertical grain (End grain) prevents bacteria from getting trapped in the wood as the grain is denser and harder.

I also use my Wood Wax on these as aswell, which is made from Mineral oil and Beeswax (from New Zealand), giving them a nice stain finish and protecting them.
Cleaning: Hand wash only! Hot water and soap in the sink. (The glue I have used is waterproof, but please don't use a dishwasher)
Refinishing: If the board starts to lose its colour from washing, apply more finish; I would recommend my Wood Wax, but some customers use mineral oil, or even cooking oil.
